HIGH OCCUPANCY VEHICLE LANES (1995-1999)
This issue of Current Topics includes over 65 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on high occupancy vehicle lanes (HOVs). Abstracts look at the policy of creating and marketing HOVs, the construction and conversion of existing lanes into HOVs and HOV effectiveness at countering congestion and pollution. Also road markings and road signs for HOVs, their enforcement and policing and the education of road users about them. There are also abstracts on High Occupancy Tolling (HOT) lanes and the effects of motorcycles on HOV use. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1995-1999. Much of the relevant English language published literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
