MACROSCOPIC TRAFFIC FLOW MODELS: A QUESTION OF ORDER
This paper proposes a methodology for the comparison of first and second order macroscopic traffic flow models. A number of difficulties are identified and an investigation is made of how various macroscopic models deal with them. A set of problems or situations are proposed which could be used as a test workbench for the comparison of models.
