MEASURING UP: PITTSBURGH'S NEW OPERATIONS CONTROL CENTER
The Port Authority of Allegheny County (the Authority) has embarked upon a comprehensive Stage II Expansion Program that completes the modernization of Pittsburgh's original trolley lines into a modern light rail transit system. A new Operations Control Center (OCC) will be implemented in support of the Stage II Light Rail Expansion Program elements. The Authority's new OCC will include an impressive variety of major control, oversight and administrative subsystems, including: centralized traffic control; tunnel ventilation system, traction power system, schedule monitoring and adherence, train information system, operating orders, bulletins and restrictions, incident reporting, closed circuit television, and, voice and data communications.
