COLD COMFORT
The article explores the frequent conflict between aircraft deicing and the environment. Problems such as the environmental damage caused by aircraft deicing products when they are entrained in runoff leaving the airport require the collaborative efforts of the entire airport community in order to meet the dual needs of ensuring the safety of aircraft operations and controlling the environmental impacts.
