HONG KONG'S NEW SUPERMODEL
Detailed design of Hong Kong's next major bridge is now under way after the US$13.2 million design contract was signed with the consultant. The bridge will have a super-slim deck based on designs first put forward for the Messina Bridge. The bridge forms the major part of the southernmost section of Route 10, which will provide a link from Lantau Island to the New Territories. The article provides description of the design of the bridge as well as the project schedule, with completion expected in 2007.
