FORD TAURUS, PICKUP AND GM SATURN GET TOP CRASH-TEST MARKS
Ford Motor Company's Ford Taurus four-door car, its Ford F-150 extended-cab pickup truck, and General Motors Corporation's Saturn SL four-door all received highest National Highway Traffic Safety Administration crash ratings in a recent batch of 2000-model tests. Front crashes were into a fixed barrier at 35 mph (24 kph), while side crash tests involved angling a deformable barrier into the side of the vehicle at 38.5 mph (62 kph).
