CENTRAL ADVICE SYSTEM FOR FLEET MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONS: IMPROVING THE SAFETY AND RELIABILITY OF ROLLING STOCK
This paper describes a decision support system for fleet managers, drivers and maintenance staff who work with/on rolling stock (light rail transportation, trains, subways, and trams). The system is called CAS, which stands for Central Advice System. The development of this system occurs within a European research and development program known as BRIDGE. The paper presents the theory of BRIDGE, how CAS works, and the specific application of BRIDGE in CAS.
