SAFETY CERTIFICATE FOR RAIL TRANSPORT COMPANIES: DEVELOPING AN AUDIT METHOD
Railned's Railway Safety Department (RnV) has been charged with safety certification of the public rail networks in The Netherlands. In order to be able to issue safety certificates, Railned has to (1) determine what the safety requirements of transport company's are, and (2) develop a method to assess whether or not the companies are meeting these safety requirements (by means of a certification audit). This paper presents Railned's method to develop a safety certification audit.
