LASER MEASUREMENTS PUT A STOP TO "CRABBING" ON LONG VEHICLES AND VEHICLE COMBINATIONS

LASER GOER SLUT PAA "SNEDSTEGEN" FOER LAANGA FORDON OCH FORDONSTAAG

Particularly on articulated buses and long vehicle combinations, it often happens that wheels on the different axles do not run in the same track. This crabbing gives rise to a traffic safety hazard since the width of the vehicle is increased, and also increases tyre wear. A description is given of a new measuring technique using a laser which enables adjustments to be made quickly and easily. /TRRL/
