DETERIORATION OF ROAD SURFACES UPDATE (1997-2000)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 60 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the manifestations, causes and treatment of deterioration in rigid and flexible pavements. Amongst the types of distress dealt with are cracking, rutting and potholing. Abstracts are included on the monitoring and modelling of pavement distress, and its treatment by methods such as overlay resurfacing, surface dressing, thin surfacings, patching and haunching. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1997 and 2000. Much of the relevant English language literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
