SHEAR AND DUCTILITY BEHAVIOR OF CONCRETE BEAMS REINFORCED WITH GFRP REBARS
In this paper, experimental results on shear and ductility of concrete beams reinforced with GFRP bars are presented. Two types of GFRP bars were used for reinforcing concrete beams for shear and bending tests. Following issues are addressed: shear behavior of concrete beams reinforced with FRP bars and FRP stirrups in terms of diagonal crack occurrence; applicability of existing ACI equations for shear capacity of concrete beams with FRP stirrups and review of failure modes and ductility factors in GFRP reinforced concrete beams based on energy and deformability concepts.
