LOK-TESTS DETERMINE THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF CONCRETE

According to the theory presented, plastic analyses may be applied to determine the load-bearing capacity of an embedded bolt which is pulled out by application of counter-pressure (lok-test). It can be proved that if the angle between the direction of deformation and the failure surface is identical to the angle of friction, the pull-out force will then be proportional to the compressive strength of the concrete that is being tested. Theoretical formulae are compared with test results obtained at the structural research laboratory of the University of Technology at Lyngby, Denmark. /TRRL/
