POSITIONING SENSORS, VIDEO TOOL FOR COUNTING PEDESTRIAN
This paper present a method for detecting, counting and calculating the speed and direction of pedestrians in urban areas. The system uses video cameras and image processing. The advantages of the system are that only one matrix camera is required to ascertain the direction and speed of pedestrians. In addition, this technique is shown to be more cost-effective than other video-based counting methods.
