SAFETY IN NUMBERS
In April of 1997, Florida Toll Services (FTS) put "Safety Bingo" into action. The purpose of this game is to help bring recordable lost workday case severity rate numbers down and reduce the expenses related to worker compensations. Since then FTS has reduced all of their numbers in recordable injuries. The total recordable case rate has been reduced approximately 10%; the lost workday case rate has dropped 20%; and the most impressive number since the start up of "Safety Bingo" is the lost workday case severity rate which has been reduced by 99%. Further details are provided in this paper.
