TRAFFIC SAFETY-A TIME FOR INITIATIVE

The council has attempted to create a state-wide awareness of the impact of traffic accidents through educational programs. It was conducted seminars and training sessions on such topics as alcohol, drugs, and driving, and it has established community traffic safety boards. The council has also played a major role in the legislative passage of traffic safety bills, and has awarded honors to police departments which conducted effective accident prevention programs.
