SUPERPLASTICISED CONCRETE
Data related to mix design, handling properties and possible uses of super-plasticized concrete are here condensed into a usable practice sheet. Two types of superplasticized concrete are distinguished: flowing concrete produced at normal water/cement ratios but possessing such extreme workability without excessive bleeding or segregation that the concrete can be placed with little or no vibration or compaction; water-reduced high strength concrete produced at much lower water-cement rations than normally experienced and having workability in the range traditionally used by the industry. The chemicals that give the high workability are sulphorated melamine formaldehyde condensates and sulphorated naphthalene formaldelhyde condensates.
