IMPROVEMENT IN GRAVEL QUALITY THROUGH CRUSHING IN A PNEUMATIC DEVICE

Brief details are given of a laboratory crusher which crushes gravel (20mm) by projecting it by means of a current of air on a hard surface. The technique produces few fines and non-broken elements. Results of comparative tests on asphaltic concrete and concrete show that crushing according to this technique improves gravels smaller than 20 mm, which were otherwise difficult to use. /TRRL/
