CYCLING AND THE HEALTH OF THE NATION: WHY ROAD SAFETY STRATEGIES MUST PROMOTE CYCLING
Road safety cannot be viewed in isolation. This paper offers a vision of a future where road safety contributes to public health. It draws on recent research on the pattern of illness in the world to describe the most likely scenario unless there is a change in thinking by those involved in transport. It explores the value of increased cycling for transport, not just for the health of individuals but for the well-being of the whole community.
