A SIMPLE REVENUE-COST PERSPECTIVE ON US AIRPORT OPERATIONS
Airport pricing is influenced by not just economic factors but also by social and political objectives. Further, given rapid is in air service consumption, and the extensive usage of airport services, an appropriate financing of airport operations is important. This article offers an optimization model in which major explanatory variables for revenue and costs in the corresponding transactions are taken into account. As an extension to previous work, the authors focus on some technical aspects of their model. A semi-cross-sectional analysis, based on data from the American Association of Airport Executives, the Airports Council International North American and the Congressional Budget Office, is examined using regression techniques.
