COMMUNICATIONS EASE ARIZONA PROJECT
This article describes a recently completed project by the Kingman District of the Arizona Department of Transportation, and one of the most successful urban highway reconstruction projects that northwestern Arizona has ever witnessed--the widening of State Route 95 right through the heart of Bullhead City on the banks of the Colorado River. The article focuses on a new communications approach operated in conjunction with the reconstruction project, one of the primary reasons the project went so smoothly. The highly effective public outreach efforts facilitated by the project team allowed for effective management of the constant traffic flow of this busy stretch of highway between Bullhead City, Arizona, Needle, California, and those traveling on to Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada.
