TTI, TAMU TEACHING TOMORROW'S PROFESSIONALS TODAY
As transportation enters the 21st century, one of the industry's greatest needs is to employ well-trained and well-educated professionals capable of meeting the challenges of a new millennium. For more than 50 years, Texas A&M University (TAMU) and the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) have been meeting this need by educating the next generation of transportation professionals through quality research and project opportunities. The TTI-TAMU partnership exposes students to cutting-edge transportation technology and produces graduates who have a head start in the transportation field. By including intelligent transportation systems concepts and other specialized transportation applications in transportation courses, students are educated early in the technology they will use through their educational and professional careers. More than 4,000 individuals who have worked for TTI or have a degree from TAMU are practicing transportation professionals working in 47 states, the District of Columbia, and 18 foreign countries.
