DEVELOPMENT IN PIPELINE INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT AT THE NV NEDERLANDSE GASUNIE, THE NETHERLANDS
Pipeline Integrity Management is concerned with risk to the environment (safety), reliability of its operations with regard to contracts, and cost effectiveness. This paper discusses the path that can be taken to change the current "Condition Monitoring and Maintaining" of transmission pipelines into an appraisal-based system. This recent Pipeline Integrity Management System concerns the quantifiable relationships among threats to safety, maintenance measures, and pipeline performance.
