PATH LABS--CORY HALL : ELEMENTS IN THE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AVCS

This report describes a project which led to the development of an electronics laboratory and a software facility for the California PATH Program. The laboratory supports advanced vehicle control systems (AVCS) efforts, while the software facility supports simulation efforts in particular, and general computer support. The major elements of the work included: 1) acquisition of laboratory equipment hardware and software; 2) hardware support for vehicle data acquisition and control actuation systems; 3) real-time software development for the vehicle computer; 4) inter-vehicle communication systems development and operations; 5) ultrasonic range sensor development; and, 6) studies of coordination control.
