THIS YEAR'S MODEL : DYNAMIC TRAFFIC SIMULATION TESTING
This article describes the DYnamic traffic simulation MOdels (DYMO) project designed to test four dynamic traffic modeling programs and compare their abilities to model Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) applications. The ITS applications that were selected include: adaptive urban traffic control, traffic flow control, ramp metering incident management, route guidance using variable message signs intelligent speed adaptation, and public transit priority. The a network of the models and their capabilities are described, and conclusions from the testing are reported.
