INFORMATION AND THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY
In this paper, the authors examine the trucking industry and how it is affected by information systems. Through interviews and observations the following four objectives are pursed: 1) understanding the role of information in different trucking industry segments; 2) examining how information and communication technologies are leading to the availability of data; 3) determining the use of the information by the industry; and, 4) determining the impact of information on the vehicle and the industry.
