COMPOUND OPTIMISATION : SOLVING TRANSPORT AND ROUTING PROBLEMS WITH A MULTI-CHROMOSOME GENETIC ALGORITHM

This paper describes how a multi-chromosome genetic algorithm can be used to provide solutions to transportation and routing optimization problems. Geographic information systems (GIS) spatial data is used by the genetic algorithm to display the evolution of each option.
