THE ROLE OF ELECTRONIC DATA INTERCHANGE (EDI) FOR THE OPERATION OF A FREIGHT FORWARDER IN THE LOGISTICAL CHAIN
This paper report on the growing importance of electronic data interchange (EDI) in freight forwarding. In the first part of the paper, the author focuses on the significance of logistics in international trade. The second part of the paper presents a case study of the Intereuropa enterprise as a special logistics operator that makes use of complex information technologies in controlling logistical processes.
