DRIVE, DYNAMIC ROUTING OF INDEPENDENT VEHICLES
This paper presents DRIVE (dynamic routing of independent vehicles), a planning module that is included in a decision support system for a freight delivery trucking company. DRIVE features a branch-and-price algorithm with is described in the paper. Delivery speed and quality are maintained using optimization techniques and a column management scheme. Results from using DRIVE in a simulated dynamic planning environment are reported.
