THE INNOVATIVE MANUFACTURING INITIATIVE ROAD VEHICLE SECTOR

This paper describes the Innovative Manufacturing Initiative as it applies to transportation and automobile design. It briefly describes the ROad Vehicle Automation and road vehicle research in the U.K. Three key areas of research are identified: supply chain re- engineering, in-vehicle telematics systems, and advanced vehicle structures.
