AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CIVIL ENGINEERS ISSUE BRIEFS
This article contains the text of the American Society of Civil Engineers' (ASCE) research briefs on the state of U.S. national public infrastructure. Each of the 10 categories that made up the ASCE 1998 Infrastructure "Report Card" is included with general comments pertinent to each section at the beginning followed by more specific subsections devoted to conditions, performance, capacity, funding, and proposed solutions. Areas covered include roads and bridges, mass transit, aviation, and solid and hazardous waste, among others.
