REDESIGNING TRAFFIC SYSTEMS AND LOGISTIC PROCESSES USING ITS
Growing demands for mobility of people and goods can not be satisfied using classical transportation facilities and technologies. Successful development and implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in concrete environments can significantly improve the performance of transportation and logistics. The future redesign of total traffic (transportation and telecommunications) systems is associated with the concept of virtual mobility as a complement of physical mobility. A new strategic orientation to rebalance transport for sustainable mobility is suggested in this paper.
