THE PROPENSITY OF BUSINESS TRAVELLERS TO USE LOW COST, SHORT HAUL AIRLINES
The relaxation of air transportation regulations in the European Union (EU) has led to the introduction of a number of new airlines serving short haul point to point routes. While some of these routes are clearly leisure oriented, some evidence suggests that a significant number of travelers are using these services for business trips. This paper details a preference survey of European business travelers to assess the propensity for business travelers to use short haul, low cost airlines. The survey assessed the utility placed by travelers on price, airline reward schemes, flight frequency and inflight service attributes.
