OCTOBER TRAFFIC DEATHS DOWN LESS THAN 0.5 PERCENT
Motor vehicle deaths in October 1999 totaled 3,880, up 6% from the October 1998 total of 3,650. Deaths for the first 10 months of 1999 totaled 34,310, down less than 0.5% from the 1998 total of 34,460. Two tables present fatality figures by state and by month for the years 1996-1999. A map illustrates fatality changes by state.
