SYSTEMS INTEGRATION
The paper addresses the needs for communicaiton systems on the Underground by reviewing the development of the systems currently installed and the operational constraints that they impose through their design. It then examines the way that these constraints could be removed and develops the ideal of a human centred integrated communications system. (A) For the covering abstract see IRRD E104564.
