TRANSPORT OF HAZARDOUS GOODS UPDATE (1995-1999)
This issue of Current Topics includes over 70 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the transport of dangerous materials such as nuclear waste, liquefied petroleum gas, chemicals and on the management of the risks involved. Abstracted papers cover their transport through tunnels, the use of geographical information systems (GIS) in routeing alternatives, risk assessment, safety training, the monitoring and controlling of the movement of hazardous goods by road and rail, as well as legislation on tanker safety, classification, packing and labelling. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1995 and 1999. Much of the relevant English language literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Road Research Documentation (IRRD) database.
