STUDIES ON THE STRENGTHENING METHOD OF MULTI-BEAM BRIDGE WITH BIG EXTERNAL GIRDERS
This paper presents a method for strengthening multi-beam bridge with bid external girders by which the stiffness and cross section of external girder can be increased. This method is not only convenient to engage in construction but also can improve load distribution effectively, reduce live-load of internal beam and increase bridge carrying capacity. The theory of General Elastic Supported Continuous Beam in skew girder bridge is developed to analyze transverse load distribution of right bridge. Several conclusions are obtained.
