AGGREGATE DEMAND FOR CANADIAN AIRPORTS, 1986-1996: LITERATURE REVIEW AND PRELIMINARY RESULTS
The two objectives of this paper are to review literature on air travel and airport demand, and to describe preliminary results of ongoing research on aggregate demand for major Canadian airport services between 1986 and 1996. The paper synthesizes and reviews literature on aggregate air travel demand modelling, infrastructure privatization, air carrier deregulation, airport choice in multiple-airport regions, and airport competitiveness. The data set and methodology of the study as well as preliminary results are also presented.
