EVOLUTION OF A CAR PARK STUDY: A SHOPPING CENTRE IN GAZIANTEP
The paper discusses a shopping center that was built in Gaziantep in the center of the city without giving any consideration the the traffic problem. After the shopping center was built, traffic flow increased to 166%. Even though additional parking facility was constructed, it is difficult to find parking in the area; this has forced some people who work in the area to stop driving to work. The analysis of the situation clearly indicates the essential need for public policies on parking to objective approaches in long range planning and community development.
