ON-RAMP OPTIMAL CONTROL IN FREEWAY
In this paper, the authors present a traffic flow model that uses an on-ramp optimal control strategy to describe real traffic when congestion occurs in a section of freeway. Results from computer simulations show that this control strategy is useful in reducing the average on-ramp waiting time.
