ELECTRONIC TOLLING AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (ETTM) : THE 407 ETR-- THE EXPERIENCE, THE OPPORTUNITY AND A CONCEPT
This paper presents a review of the 407 ETR, the first fully electronic open road toll system in operation in Toronto. The 407 ETR is used as a case study of the potential benefits of transportation network management. A conceptual model to address the major issues related to the wide scale deployment of automated toll collection systems and network management is presented.
