INTERACTION OF PLATE BUCKLING WITH TORSIONAL-FLEXURAL COLUMN BUCKLING
An analytical method is presented for treating steel columns subject to the interaction of local and torsional-flexural buckling. The approach utilizes previous experimental and analytical results and obviates the necessity of considering directly the almost untractable complexities of large deflections and inelastic behavior in the locally buclked plates interacting with torsional-flexural column buckling, either elastic or inelastic. Comparisons are given with method presented in the American Iron and Steel Institute Specification. /Author/
