ADAPTABILITY IN DRIVER SUPPORT
Adaptability is a central feature in intelligent driver support systems. Several studies have been conducted to determine what aspects of the driving task need support and whether these differ across drivers. The findings describe the range of difficulties drivers have. Observation errors are the major contributory factor in traffic incidents. It is recommended that driver support includes the provision of alerting messages and a personalized feedback system that informs the driver of deviant behavior, once it has reached a certain threshold.
