METHODS OF CONTROL AND REGULATION OF MOTIVE POWER UNITS
LOSUNGSWEGE FUR DIE STEUERUNG UND REGELUNG VON TRIEBFAHRZEUGEN
The function of the locomotive engineman is reviewed. Motive and braking power instructions are formulated from various train control systems. These systems include timetable schedule controls, train velocity controls, and danger point distance controls. In the discussion of the distance controlling cycle, the present customary safety system is described, whereby fixed signals are used as the distance-measuring equipment and as an aid to the distance comparison.
