PILED FOUNDATIONS

This collection is composed of reports (summarized) presented at a seminar which took place in kiev in 1971. The results of studies are presented, with recommendations for the calculation of the bearing capacity of driven or bored piles. Also covered are the use and design of new types of piles (with opening tips, pyramidal piles, piles with enlarged anchored bases). Particulars of static and dynamic tests are given as well as a discussion of the particular problems of the design of foundations in loess soils and of design of floating foundations on piles. /TRRL/
