BRUSSELS SURPRISE : SN BRUSSELS AIRLINES STAYS ALOFT, ODD NAME AND ALL, ALTHOUGH MANY WONDER HOW

SN Brussels Airlines is testing a new name, including FlySN.com, but it doesn't have a lot of money to spend on a new brand, with an operating loss of $114.8 million in its first year. There seems to be a heavy governmental push from the Belgium government to salvage its national airline despite European rules restricting state aid. Executives claim that its historic high costs are under control and that yields are running at satisfactorily high levels. Shareholders have increased its net equity in order to meet requirements of Belgian corporate law after operating losses wiped out its net equity. It is anticipated that the airline will end the year in the black.
