COMPARISON OF EUROPEAN PROTECTION EFFICIENCY TESTS

Geotextiles protect geosynthetic barriers in landfills, pipelines against falling fill, concrete-/steel structures against impact of rock-fill. To characterize the efficiency of different products, CEN TC 189 WG 3 developed some tests. During the European round robin test, comparisons of results for identical materials were performed. As the tests are based on different attack-mechanisms, the protection against these attacks leads to different results for a set of materials, simple relations seem not possible.
