ACCIDENT REPORTING TIME LAG STUDY
An analysis of actual and projected time lags in reporting motor vehicle accidents to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. A time lag is defined for pusposes of this report as the time between the data of an accident and the date the accident report is received in the Department. Phase I examines the actual time lag on the current Motorist and Police Accident Reporting forms (MV-104, MV-104A and MV-104AN). Phase II examines the projected police reporting on the revised MV-104A Police Accident Report and MV-104AN Police Accident Report (Y.N.C.). /Author/
