DUBAI EXPANDS PRODUCTION SYSTEM
With the addition of two more half million barrel storage tanks, the Dubai Petroleum Co. now has a 1,500,000 barrel storage capacity and will begin production in the first quarter of 1973. The second tank has a 20,160 sq. foot platform on which degassing of oil from the eighty six well platforms takes place. The gas is used to generate power on the third tank platform which supplies the entire complex. Planned are another tank and a platform to provide housing for 100 men. Two single moored buoys will serve tankers loading 300,000 tons in less than 24 hours. All of the platforms are connected to the central complex by underwater pipelines. After the oil is degassed, it passes through the pipeline to the center complex where it is further degassed and stored.
