This report documents the examination of the role for public transit services with in the North Pickering Project. A large part of the analysis has focused on the development of a transit system to serve 75,000 population. However, the review was expanded to consider guidelines for public transportation if at some future time the Community were to grow beyond that target. Guidelines are given for the initial implementation and staging of transit servcies in the Community. The analysis incorporates specific assumptions related to the type and location of the regional transit system. The report concludes by outlining the possible consequences of other regional transit scenarios on the internal community structure and the local transit system. /RTAC/
