SYSTEMS OF JUDGEMENT FOR NOISE HINDRANCE BY ROAD TRAFFIC
BEOORDELINGSSYSTEEM VOOR DE GELUIDSHINDER DOOR WEGVERKEER
Various ways of drawing up a useful and reliable method of assessing the acceptability of noise from road traffic in residential areas are considered. It is concluded that during hot weather, when windows are open, a sound level of 45db(a) is acceptable but that a level of 75db(a) or more is unacceptable. These data form the starting point for formulation of a zoning system for roads; the most important acoustic aspects of this system are explained. /TRRL/
